Whoa, update!
Long time no update! Well, long time no new wedding plans. However, after irrationally freaking out about how soon the wedding is (when I still have over 10 months to plan), I decided to tackle one of the two major obstacles to finishing the plans - the Photographer. We had looked in the area, but were disappointed when many were booked, way to expensive, grumpy, or hippy-crunchy. I spent a week in Douglas to visit some doctors, and visited a VERY crunchy photographer with my mom. I was pretty bumed.
But then, I looked into a photography group who I had initially dismissed. I was pleasantly pleased with their online gallery, so I dropped them an email. The owner called me back (this was late Saturday afternoon), we were able to set up an appointment to meet, and she was extremely helpful. So Josh and I took the Wednesday before Thanksgiving to head out to Rye to meet Sue from The Wedding Photographers. We got there a few minutes early and got to meet a woman who had just used Sue for her wedding, and she was able to give us a very detailed review of how well everything went. The meeting went very well, and she was actually able to show us a wedding she had shot at the Highlander Inn this past October! It was great to see the hotel in the fall, since we booked in early April. We were very impressed, and after chatting it over with Mom and Dad, we decided to have Sue do our pictures. The final packages are HUGE, everyone will get copies of the photos! So we put a deposit down today, and we have one less thing to plan! yea!
I hope everyone's holiday was great, and they got to enjoy some time off. Only two more weeks until December break!! I am so ready to be done with this semester. While we were in Douglas, Josh and I helped to move the last of Pat and Kate's stuff out of the Douglas house. They had a ton of stuff, but it was good to see that they were able to get everything into one truck. They're driving down to their new home today, thats one long trip! Some day, we'll own a home... goodness, that hurts to think about, lets just worry about what everyone is going to eat at the wedding. Chicken or veggies? Chocolate cake or vanilla cake? Can I get an angel food cake????
