Whoa, update!
Long time no update!  Well, long time no new wedding plans.  However, after irrationally freaking out about how soon the wedding is (when I still have over 10 months to plan), I decided to tackle one of the two major obstacles to finishing the plans - the Photographer.  We had looked in the area, but were disappointed when many were booked, way to expensive, grumpy, or hippy-crunchy.  I spent  a week in Douglas to visit some doctors, and visited a VERY crunchy photographer with my mom.  I was pretty bumed.

But then, I looked into a photography group who I had initially dismissed.  I was pleasantly pleased with their online gallery, so I dropped them an email.  The owner called me back (this was late Saturday afternoon), we were able to set up an appointment to meet, and she was extremely helpful.  So Josh and I took the Wednesday before Thanksgiving to head out to Rye to meet Sue from The Wedding Photographers.  We got there a few minutes early and got to meet a woman who had just used Sue for her wedding, and she was able to give us a very detailed review of how well everything went.  The meeting went very well, and she was actually able to show us a wedding she had shot at the Highlander Inn this past October!  It was great to see the hotel in the fall, since we booked in early April.  We were very impressed, and after chatting it over with Mom and Dad, we decided to have Sue do our pictures.  The final packages are HUGE, everyone will get copies of the photos!   So we put a deposit down today, and we have one less thing to plan! yea!

I hope everyone's holiday was great, and they got to enjoy some time off.  Only two more weeks until December break!! I am so ready to be done with this semester.  While we were in Douglas, Josh and I helped to move the last of Pat and Kate's stuff out of the Douglas house.  They had a ton of stuff, but it was good to see that they were able to get everything into one truck.  They're driving down to their new home today, thats one long trip!  Some day, we'll own a home... goodness, that hurts to think about, lets just worry about what everyone is going to eat at the wedding.  Chicken or veggies?  Chocolate cake or vanilla cake?  Can I get an angel food cake????

You should get marble cake. Marble cake is the win.

I really wanted carrot cake, but my Dad said he wouldnt pay for the wedding ifI got that :-p All I really care about is that it is tasty, some of the bakeries use fondant like its nature's miracle, and I find it so icky. Hopefully I can just find some good, old fashioned, cake.

Tell your dad he is insane for denying the glory of carrot cake. But if that is the case, I believe that angel food cake would be splendiferous.

When the day comes that I do the deed, I will be all about Red Velvet cake. This is mostly because it looks creepy to cut into a pristine white cake and see blood red filling.

mmm, bloody cake.... I have seriously thought about angel food cake with vanilla frosting and M&M's, which is a staple in any holiday party in my family. However, getting 4 of them to stack up to make an appropriate hight may not be possible. Really, I just want M&M's.

well, I couldn't get thru the comment way, so here's a shot at being anonymous. Like PMD's old name tag at Victory Supermarket! Any cake is fine, we just want to see and squeeze you! And dance to that fabulous band, and have photos by a not so nutty crunchy photographer.

Well - in light of the financial threat - as mild as it was :) and since this day is about you and Josh and not me, I guess a carrot cake is not a bad thing. If it is what you really want - go for it. Can I at least ask for a say in the frosting? Vanilla or maybe cream cheese?

Well, we can probably move beyond carrot cake... maybe some Angel Food with M&M's? No fancy cutting knife for us, we'll need the power knife! Really, as long as it is cake, I'm ok :-)
Love K&J
